PROMATIS supports Documentation and Evaluation of Administration Processes with the Income Suite
Ettlingen, May 5, 2008 - The University of Mainz, Germany was chosen for the program “Quality Management in Universities” together with the Technical University of Braunschweig, the University of Fulda and the University of Applied Sciences Muenster. In line with the program the Sponsor Association for German Science and the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation supported the development of an integrated Quality Management at Universities. The chosen Universities stood up to 64 competitors with conclusive concepts for developing and implementing a Quality Management. Linked to the program participation is a sponsorship with 300,000 € each over a time period of two years.
With the Center for Quality Assurance and Development (ZQ) established in 1999 the University of Mainz can build up on a successful Quality Assurance System. The analysis and evaluation of faculties and single elective courses as well as the support of junior scientists are the core objectives of the ZQ. With the Mainz Model an action-oriented procedure for internal and external evaluations was developed. Especially the intention to create a stronger connection between evaluation and steering convinced the board of sponsors.
PROMATIS software GmbH supports the internal Quality Assurance and Development of the university of Mainz by using the Income® Suite. With the Income® Process Designer all administration processes were modeled. The detail processes are thereby structured into University Management, Doctrine and Research, Resource Management and inter-academic services such as BAföG (Student Loans) and exchequer of university. Reviews and improvements of the entire administration processes are continuously performed. PROMATIS supports the University’s administration in generating process documentations and structuring this comprehensive information. The documented processes shall then, as a further step, be made available as internal knowledge portal via Income® Knowledge Browser. By these means the University staff is enabled for a targeted up-to-date view on administration processes. y these means the University staff is enabled for a targeted up-to-date view on administration processes.
